Our Services

  • Preventative Health Care

Preventative health care is vital to ensuring the health and well-being of your pet.  This starts with a comprehensive physical exam which allows the doctor to make recommendations depending on the age and lifestyle of your pet.

  • Anesthesia and Pain Management

If your pet should require sedation or general anesthesia, every precaution will be made to ensure their safety and well-being.   Anesthetics are specifically tailored to your pet.  We have up to date anesthesia protocols. ECG, heart rate, pulse oximetry, and respirations are monitored while under anesthesia.  Pain management is a priority at Glencoe Animal Hospital.  Veterinary patients feel pain and discomfort under the same circumstances as people do therefore pain medications are mandatory for all patients that undergo a surgical procedure here.   We know that recognizing and alleviating pain in animals is the essence of good patient care.

  • Surgery

We offer the most advanced surgical techniques and technology.   We offer a wide range of surgery services including spay and neuter surgery, declawing, growth removals, laceration repair, bladder stone removal, biopsies, some foreign body removals, and correction of ear hematomas.  All surgeries are performed in a sterile environment.

  • Dental Care

The single greatest contribution to improving life spans in humans has been dental care.  This holds true for our pets as well.  Preventative dental care and dental prophylaxis are important in helping to prevent future medical problems.   We use modern and safe ultrasound to clean each tooth thoroughly - above and below the gum line.  We also have digital dental X-ray which allows us to x-ray questionable teeth and move forward with the appropriate therapy.  Dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup.

  • Diagnostic and Laboratory Services

Our in house laboratory and radiology equipment allow us to quickly and thoroughly evaluate your pet's health. Radiology – or X-rays – help our veterinarians evaluate musculoskeletal, cardiovascular(cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary systems.  We also have equipment to screen for high blood pressure and glaucoma.

  • Microchip Placement

Microchips have helped reunite thousands of pets with their families. A HomeAgain  chip is an excellent way to permanently identify your pet.  To microchip your pet, we inject a tiny microchip about the size of a grain of rice just under your pet's skin.  The microchip's unique number can be read by a scanner and the number can be matched to the name and phone number of the owner.

  • Boarding

Pets are like our children – we feed, nurture and lavish attention on them. Our highly qualified kennel attendants do the same when you can't be there.   We offer hospital boarding for pets  with medical conditions, on medications, and nervous or older pets.  We also have a kennel for healthier and/or younger dogs.  Our kennel has larger runs and each run had its own outdoor area.  Our kennel is equipped wih central air condtioning and heat to keep your pet comfortable during their stay.  Stop in any time and we will show you around.
